Underwriters Laboratories (UL®) Labels – Video
There are two basic divisions in the Underwriters Laboratories (UL®) label program, UL 969 (Recognized Components) and UL Mark (UL logo, UL Listed, etc.) labels. This second type may be broken down into Type L and Type R. We can handle all these types for you; they may be specific requirements you will need before we can do so with the UL Mark labels.
UL 969 labels are those that have met the UL requirements. They undergo comprehensive testing for permanency – curling, wrinkling, shrinkage, loss of adhesion – when a label is exposed to harsh conditions such as high humidity, water, elevated temperatures, sunlight or chemical agents. Testing also typically includes an evaluation of legibility and resistance to defacement. If you want the most durable labels for your product, whatever it might be, you know the materials available through our UL Recognized Components program have been vigorously tested. We offer these under file #MH29620.
UL Mark (Type L, Type R) labels contain one of the UL Marks (the logo, with wording such as UL Listed, UL Classified, etc.). UL Approved drawings and purchase orders may be required for these labels, as well as UL authorization and a UL File number. We offer these under file #PGAA.LP3744 with verification from UL.
UL approved materials include your choice of white, clear or metalized silver 2-mil polyesters with additional over-laminates, or 10-mil Lexan® with choice of adhesive. The metalized silver polyesters comes in brushed, shiny, or matte finishes. Internal cutouts, adhesive-free areas (Lexan® only), and sequential numbering are possible.
